Katrina Blannin painter and printmaker, was born in London, UK, where she currently lives and works. Since graduating from the Royal College of Art in 1997 she has shown her work extensively in the UK and abroad, co-directed artist run project spaces, curated exhibitions and written about contemporary painting. In 2021 she completed a Painting by Practice PhD at the University of Worcester where she now teaches Fine Art. She also teaches at UAL Camberwell for BA Painting; previously Drawing/Conceptual Practice; UCA Canterbury and works both on the editorial board and the mentoring programme for Turps Banana, London, UK.
In 2024 the Working Spaces collective was formed together with Catherine Ferguson, Della Gooden, Jo McGonigal and Moyra Derby to explore painting’s response to specific spaces outside the traditions of painting, and their third project takes place in March 2026 in the Painted Church (All Saints) in Cambridge. In 2025 recent works on paper responding to Jeffrey Steele’s (1931-2021) 1967 billboard print were shown in g39 Gallery, Cardiff in Rebuild the Poets, curated by Anthony Shapland, alongside Steele’s original. Other recent projects include being a member of the artist group Vollbildmodus based in Germany and a series of exhibitions in Berlin and Bonn, 2025; participation in Analysis, Disruption, System, Wilhelm Morgner Museum, SKK Projects, Raum Schroth, curated by Andrew Bick, Katie Pratt, Jonathan Parsons, 2023; and a series of exhibitions and Art Cologne 2025 with Galerie Hoffmann, and regular exhibitions with Laurent Delaye Gallery.
